SSBC
The Salem Sports and Breakfast Club (SSBC) has grown from a membership-driven nonprofit into a corporate-sponsored organization dedicated to supporting local athletics. Our mission is to foster community engagement and celebrate the role of sports in developing future leaders.
Our Board of Directors
- Bryan Sutherland – Retired Athletic Director at West Salem High School (2015). A longtime coach and advocate for high school athletics, Bryan has been a consistent contributor to SSBC since his retirement.
- Don Kerzel (President) – With over 30 years of coaching experience in Little League, softball, and high school racquetball, Don has been involved with SSBC since the early 1990s and has served as president for more than 20 years.
- Lars Olsen – A practicing attorney in Salem and Sprague High School graduate. Lars returned to Sprague in the 1990s as an assistant coach, serving for over 15 years.
- Jason Herber – A passionate supporter of youth sports, Jason has coached volleyball and basketball and currently serves as an assistant girls’ basketball coach at South Salem High School. He has seen firsthand the positive impact of athletics through his daughters’ high school and collegiate experiences.
